On January 12, 2012 it was reported that a teacher’s meltdown in class was recorded and posted on YouTube. The discussion about this post is between teachers being pushed to a breaking point like this teacher was and then students posting it online? Should there be a punishment and what would that be?
The fact that students are intentionally pushing teachers to a point of anger so they can record it and then post it online is appalling enough but should they be punished for doing this sort of thing? Well, this is the discussion going on right now. See the video below from FoxNews. Please share your opinions on this topic.
- Do you think students should be able to push a teacher to this point so they can post it online is acceptable or should they be punished?
- Should cell phones be allowed use inside the classroom and punishment exercised for doing so?
- Should there be some sort of protection afforded to teachers who are attacked this way in the classroom?
My concern is what happens when there is an emergency (such as student shooting) inside or outside of the classroom and the students have no phones to make calls out if phones are banned from classrooms? The point is that more needs to be done to protect people from misusing cell phones in general. It should be a criminal offense that is monitored and prosecuted by the court system…not by legislation in Washington.
