DEMOCRATS, STOP YOUR SPENDING!

Part I:

Why is it so hard for Democrats to stop spending when it’s obvious that we can’t afford it or that it is contrary to common sense?

One expert said that the reason Democrats spend so much on entitlements is because it’s the only thing that makes their Party

Democrats must provide programs so people will continue to support their agenda. If they STOP spending people will stop supporting them. What would the Democrat’s future be then? In defence to this threat, they use tactics that include misinformation, lying, discrediting, and humiliating the competition.

  • Their agenda is taxing the rich to pay for programs that keep the poor dependent on government subsidies.
  • Their agenda is to wage class warfare to capitalize on the disparity between classes in America.
  • Their agenda is to employ false claims of racism to draw people away from the Republican Party and posture Democrats to win elections.
  • Their agenda is to employ rhetoric that demonizes the rich, divides people between Political Party Lines and ideology, and stir up hatred toward Homosexuals, Arabs, Muslims, Mexicans, illegal immigrants, blacks, and Conservative values.
  • Their agenda is to use the Blame Game to deflect accountability and defer personal responsibility.
  • Their agenda is to re-educate the youth and grow a new generation that supports Democrat goals for Progressivism.

These tactics are all tools used by politicians to win elections and to influence Democrat Party Support. Unless we are able to see through the ploys, either because we know the truth or we recognize the tactics being used, we will be pulled into their circle of influence and become dependants of entitlements.

It’s difficult to understand why people think it’s acceptable to continually spend the hard-earned money that comes off the backs of the few who actually pay taxes.

The general belief of the “Left” is that some level of sacrafice from the right is necessary, especially when the rich have record profits and they’ve been holding onto their money. Specifically, the rich are hoarding their money without investing into the economy and it’s offensive to the American People.

10% of the people pay 75 % of the taxes.

  • Why can’t people see a problem with this picture?
  • Why do Democrats keep spending when they know there’s no money to spend?
  • How does a sane person think spending, and spending, and spending, and spending, and spending, and spending, and spending into oblivion is a rational thing to do when the nation is about to go bankrupt?

It is not rational and wise to spend when there is no money to spend. Do you spend when you don’t have money to spend?

Do you go to stores when you don’t have money to spend? Of course you don’t because you understand the recklessness of it.

Would a family go to the bank and ask them to print more money so the family can pay its bills? Of course not! Banks just don’t print money.

Perhaps we go to family and friends and ask them to give us money to help pay our bills and they give it to us. But then we spend that money on what we shouldn’t if we were prudent?

Benefactors who loan us money would be irritated with how irresponsible we were in our spending. He or she would probably speak to us about it and likely tell us to cool it.

Take these two scenarios and apply the principles to Congress and their spending habits. Congress shouldn’t expect the treasury to print more money to pay bills any more than a family should expect the bank to print them money — even if they can print more money, they shouldn’t. Why is this concept so hard for Congress to understand?

When Congress takes money from us (in the form of taxes) and spends it like there’s NO TOMORROW, taxpayers have every right to insist that government stop spending! It’s our hard-earned money that they are taking, even when it comes from the rich, and they have to use it responsibility and be accountable for it.

When China and others continually give loans to the United States but government keeps digging us a deeper hole, they have every right to tell Congress to stop spending. What is so hard to understand about this concept? Well, China did tell the President to stop spending; so did Germany, France, and Russia. Regardless, we didn’t or couldn’t stop.

REPUBLICANS NEED TO BALANCE THE BUDGET AND NOT INCREASE TAXES!

Part II:

The November 2010 Elections sent Republicans to Congress. We expect them to do something about the run-away spending habits of the President and Congress.

They were given a mandate to hold Congress accountable. It appears that is what they are trying to do but they’re getting a lot of flack from the press and Democrats for it.

Jokes are constantly made about Republicans and TEA Party newbies.  However, as new members of Congress, they have impacted their Party’s decisions in a new way. The Party’s commitment to resolving concerns of their Party is renewed in a big way.

This renewed commitment is the catalyst in budget negotiations. Republican’s position in the negotiations is about getting a handle on spending, reforming entitlement benefits, and not accepting tax increases to pay for unnecessary spending. This position is creating contention in Congress and the American People.

The approval rating for Congress is very low at this time because of their inability to come to an agreement in budget negotiations. Democrats and the President want Congress to reach an agreement and perhaps, raise the debt ceiling to prevent a physical melt-down that will be felt around the world.

Nevertheless, Republicans are not responding positively to a false deadline that has been set by Geithner. They know there will be enough revenue to pay the commitments due on August 2, 2011 so they can’t be bullied into capitulation.

A line was drawn in the sand on November 2, 2010 for Republicans! They know the American People expect them to hold true to the values they committed to about taxation and spending when they were sent to Washington this January.

CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?

What part of “No Tax Increases” don’t you understand? What part of “STOP SPENDING MONEY WE CAN’T AFFORD” don’t you understand?

Well, can you hear us now? The Democrat Party should have understood this message eight months ago, when we booted them out of power?

Are they deaf, dumb, and blind, or is it that they think they can stall and then blame Republicans for the debt ceiling not being raised? Then, when elections come along, they think people are stupid enough to blame Republicans for the economy.

True, there are some folks who don’t understand the free enterprise system or economics 101, but most of America does understand the basics of economics.

Most people know that America does not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.

  • Government should pay for entitlements when we have the money and when it encourages self-reliance.
  • Some people have been pulled into the class war concept and think the rich should be hated.Isn’t it the businesses and entrepreneurs who give people jobs and grow the economy of this nation today? How does a sane person not understand these basic principles. All I can do is believe that most Americans are wise enough to understand this concept — even if it hurts them personally when favorite programs have to be cut.

MONICA CROWLEY AND JUAN WILLIAMS

Part III

A discussion between Monica Crowley and Juan Williams on the Fox News Channel gives us an interesting look at the two sides on this issue.

Juan said the President isn’t talking about small business. He’s talking about Hedge Funds, corporate jets, for people who are superstars on wall streetor football team owners. He’s not talking about you and me.

Monica said that taxing a 100% of the super rich would add up to a minuscule amount. The problem is the spending! Americans are Taxed Enough Already (TEA). “This isn’t a revenue problem”  Crowley said. “We have plenty of revenue coming in. We are dealing with a Federal spending problem.”

Nobody ever gets a job from a poor person do they? Well, it’s true isn’t it? The rich are people with money to hire us or employ volumes of people. If we need a job, we want to protect those who can give one to us. We shoot ourselves in the foot when keep taking away more money from them. That’s just plain stupid!

  • Crowley says the top 1% of earnings in America pay 30% of all income taxes.
  • She also says that the top 5% pay 59%.
  • Meanwhile, 40% pay NO Income Tax AT ALL.

So when we talk about shared sacrifice Mr. President, remember that half of the country is not participating in shared sacrifices at all.

Juan Williams added that 1% owns something like 50% of the wealth of the whole country. So when you say who has the capacity to pay more taxes, it’s the rich. Why wouldn’t the very rich be willing to contribute more?

The point isn’t that the very rich can contribute more, it’s that they have a right to choose how much and to who they contribute. It’s not that they don’t want IRS to take money to fund government, it’s that giving for any other reason should only be under responsible stewardship. It doesn’t appear that government is exercising wise stewardship.

The talk about shared sacrifices by people who can spend more doesn’t hold water when you consider that OVER 1/2 of their earned income is forceably taken from them. The point is that it isn’t shared sacrifice,it’s forced confiscation of their money.

People wouldn’t mind sharing so much if government would stop unrestrained spending, stop paying for wasted projected, and given incentives that encourage volunteer giving.

Crowley said: Historically, spending rates to GDP have been about 18% to 20%. Now we’re up to 24% of the GDP. That’s what the Feds are spending now. As of 2020, if we’re on the same path, it’s going to be an unsustainable 27% of the GDP. “It’s the spending stupid! I don’t mean you’re stupid Juan, it’s just a saying!”

Juan responded back with “The stupid say, yes but most of the spending goes to entitlements; on welfare and social security.

Monica added:  ”Juan, 5 Trillion Dollars have been added to the National Debt in two and a half years. If you are serious about dealing with the debt crisis in the country then you’ve got to get serious about dealing with the budget monster — foremost, Medicare and Medical. We have to do it soon.

As you may know, the ones Congress calls rich and asked to pay more taxes are not just so-called millionaires and billionaires. This group also include couples making $200,000 a year or small businesses making $250,000.

Congress not only wants to take more money from the very rich but also from people in the above mentioned group making $200,000 and $250,000 for small businesses. These are job creators as well.

Aside from the fact that higher taxes leave less money to expand a small business, it also makes a less conducive environment for creating new business and employing more workers. It’s basic economics.

One point not recognized yet is that those in the higher income bracket are there because they paid the price to be there.

  • They went to school and sacrificed time, money, and a social life to get the degree that put them in a better position to get a good paying job.
  • Then Government steps in and takes close to half the money they earned and give it to people who have NOT paid the price to get a good paying job.
  • IT DOES NOT MATTER THE REASON FOR PEOPLE NOT PAYING THE PRICE, THE POINT IS THAT THEY DIDN’T. LET’S TALK SHARED SACRIFICE NOW!
  • Now the Government intends to collect more money off the backs of these same hard workers, who went without things in order to enjoy the benefits of delayed gratification until they reach their goal.
  • They have followed the rules of success and done everything necessary to become financially successful, then the government decides they have too much and so they take a bigger chunk of skin off their backs in the form of money.
  • How is that fair, and how does that serve anyone? If a successful person chooses to be selfish and lavish themselves with greed, that’s there business and is NOT the government’s.
  • When I lived in another state, I heard an advertisement on the radio that told people to stop giving money to street people. They said it would be better to give money to programs that feed people and take care of them instead of letting them pan-handle as a business or using the money to buy drugs and alcohol. Not only is it safer, but the money will be used more wisely and help more people.
  • There are people who are not flakes or lazy but, through no fault of their own, are in need of just a little help. They’ve been knocked down by life and all they need is a hand to help them up.
  • Most cities have plenty of services through churches and communities so usually there is no good reason to give people money directly — and it’s dangerous.
  • A program on cable showed people being helped with small loans to start a business. They had given up on hope and wanted to just lie down and die. With the intervention of two wonderful women, these people found new hope when shown how to be self-reliant. They learned that, by using their talents and skills to make things to sell, they could make a living for themselves. Every week they would make a payment to pay back their loan so more could be lent out to help others. Their lives began to have meaning and purpose when they saw that they could do something for themselves and that they could become self-reliant.
  • When people become dependants and given things without some form of effort they don’t value what they been given. When they earn things through sacrifice, they value it much more. That’s why taking money from successful people, who have sacrificed to get there, and give to those who had no skin in the earning of it will help no one. Nor does it give the recipient a feeling of self-worth.
  • We feel self-worth when we see how our efforts are valued by others because we see that we made in a difference for that person. This effort is a personal thing and not something that can be felt or valued when it is given to them through government confiscation — even though it is for a good purpose.

IN SUMMARY

Part IV

Congress has to do their job, as they were elected to do. They need to remember who they serve and stop thinking about how their decisions affects their career and positioning.

The system is sick and needs to be fixed. Although it can’t be done overnight, in time it can if the foundation is established now and there is a common commitment to do so. The best way to help people is not by giving them a fish everyday, but to show them how to catch a fish themselves.

Being shown how to take their talents and skills and apply them to a small business structure allows them to sell their items and see how their product or service is valued.

  • When they see their value in others, they develop self-worth.
  • When they use their talents and skills to provide an income, they develop self-reliance.
  • Self-worth and self-reliance provides meaning and purpose to their life.

All the rhetoric from the Democrats and Republicans is nothing but politics. What is important is that the Republicans remember why they were sent to Washington after the November 2nd elections last year.

Most important is the commitment Republicans made to their constituents and themselves to NOT vote for tax increases, to cut unnecessary spending, and to balance the budget. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT EXPLAINS WHY REPUBLICANS ARE NOT CAVING IN TO THE DEMOCRAT’S PRESSURE TO SPEND WITHOUT CUTS AND TO RAISE THE DEBT CEILING SO BUSINESS CAN GO ON AS USUAL.

The 14th amendment of the Constitution will not allow the United States to go bankrupt. I just learned that in the last hour. However, it gives Obama the authority to override Congress and raise the debt ceiling on his own.

If the President does use the 14th amendment, it will cause a lot of controversy. Although I am angered that the President can do this, I don’t blame him if he is forced to do this since Congress can’t come to an agreement.

Now keep in mind that one of the tools that Democrats use to intimidate and get their way is to discredit, lie, and divide. I guarantee that you will see a lot of that in the next few days.

If it is true that the reason Democrats spend so much on entitlements is because it’s the only thing that makes their Party relevant, then we can be sure that they will fight for entitlements with every thing they’ve got.

hey use tactics that include misinformation, lying, discrediting, and humiliating the competition.

  • Their agenda is taxing the rich to pay for programs that keep the poor dependent on government subsidies.
  • Their agenda is to wage class warfare to capitalize on the disparity between classes in America.

  • Their agenda is to re-educate the youth and grow a new generation that supports Democrat goals for Progressivism.

Taking out all of the politics of the issue, all you need to know is that Common Sense and Economics 101 both say you have a budget before you spend. You spend only what you have and you don’t go into debt.

In the case of government whose revenue comes from taxes, you don’t shoot yourself in the foot by killing jobs and revenue by taxing more than 50% of earning in taxation. That is 1/2 of your income is taken by government…something is very wrong with this type of system.

If you think this is a healthy system, then you have a problem with your understanding of economics, self-worth, and self-reliance. Look it up on the computer and find out for yourself.
