An example of Congress lavishing themselves on our dime is the 348,468 cups of coffee bought for Congress at taxpayer expense. With all the money they pay themselves, they can pay for their own coffee!
Another example of being lavish is the insurance policies they have for themselves that outranks any insurance the little people are afforded.
The first thing that needs changing is Congress abiding by the same laws that we do with the same benefits as the average citizenry they serve.
With changes that makeup modern voters, Politicians are required to change their thinking or they will be replaced in the November election this year.
The modern voter includes a grassroots movement. These are people who want to return to standards set by the Founding Fathers, which includes less government intrusion into private lives.
Career Politicians who are Democrats, Republicans, or Independents are all being put on notice to change their ways and govern more efficiently or the people they represent will remove them from office.
The grassroots movement today is historical and will be talked about for generations. People are finally waking up to their personal responsibility in dictating to government how they wish to be governed. Their commitment to take back the country from Liberals and Progressives gives them a passion that’s propelling them into the political arena.
Until present days, politicians have been able to get away with their practices and govern as they see fit. Now people are telling them that they will no longer support “Politics as Usual”. As a result, they stopped paying attention to government and politicians until now. They are paying attention now because they are sick of the double standards in Congress and all the deals going on–saying enough is enough, you’re fired.
What people want is
- more accountability and responsibility in government
- government to abide by the Constitution
- government to have the same values established by the Fore Fathers
- government to stop moving toward Socialism and Communism
- to take back their country and restore the honor and values that have been lost.
HOW PEOPLE SEE DEMOCRATS
People see the Democrat Party as no longer being the “Party for the People” because they have become too Liberal and too Progressive for most Americans. They lean too far toward Socialism and Communism or any other “ism” that is not included in the Constitution.
What Democrats have been heard saying about Republicans is shown below:
Obama: They have amnesia.
Barney Frank: prolonged, profound Republican amnesia…
Bill Clinton: they are running on apathy, anger and amnesia…you can throw, Biden, Pelosi and Reid in the mix for all spouting the same lines in their speeches…
Obama attacks Americans for Prosperity saying they are a front organization covering up big corporations and foreign interests threatening American democracy–a claim the conservative group has vehemently denied.
With attacks on the Chamber of Commerce claiming the GOP is taking money from Foreign Countries to win, Democrats forget to mention that they have taken in more than twice the amount of Republicans, which they have been doing for years and nobody has said a thing.
This situation just points out how people see Democrats as hypocrites. Republicans have taken money from American businessmen who are doing business in other countries. However, Mr Obama’s donation, which he didn’t give back until recently when the point was pursued, came in from foreign nations or people illegally.
People find it quite amusing that Obama and his cohorts forgot this point when they lied that Republicans such as Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie, and Chamber of Commerce have taken money illegally to steal the elections. Guess they also forgot to mention that Harry Reid is facing a claim that he illegally took money himself.
The real problem the Democrats have right now is that they cannot run on policies because that would be counter productive, so they have to attack a candidates character instead. They cannot say “Look at what we have done as a party, you need to vote for us.” They haven’t done anything except govern against the will of the people, either by ignoring them or because they are out-of-touch with what most Americans want.
Democrats are not just coming up with this stuff because it just happened, they have had it planned for a long time (remember a few months ago when they said to expect an October surprise?). They think that, if they repeat the lie often enough, people will believe it.
I made a comment on Sodahead that I’m not surprised Democrats lied about Karl Rove and others for supposedly taking money illegally to win elections. The left’s favorite tool is to discredit the credible when they begin to get the attention of the right.
Then someone said that “Actually, people from all political groups do that.” So I responded back saying: “No, that’ not what I mean. I’m saying they lie, cheat, and do anything goes type of things (no matter how vile) in order to win. I have NEVER seen a Republican do that. NEVER. I see them do a spin on a topic but never anything unethical.”
He responded back with this: “You’ve “NEVER” seen a Republican do anything unethical.”
You’re right, Judy. There has never been an unethical Republican. You convinced me.
HOW PEOPLE SEE REPUBLICANS
People see the Republican Party as no longer being the “Party of Christian Values” but more like the “Party of Big Business”.
Yes, the Republican Party does represent policies that support business and free commerce, which is what makes an economy prosper, but they also need to be the Party of Values as well.
Being the Party of Values means they stand for the same traditions that have made America strong and Internationally admired. Unfortunately, the Republican Party of the past has not always been loyal to those values and now voters have become angry with them.
People want Republicans to represent the standards from which the Founding Fathers embraced, such as
- free enterprise
- smaller government
- protecting the border
- controlling immigration
- the right to bear arms
- rights for a fetus to live
- right to embrace God and the Ten Commandments
- the right to celebrate Christian holidays an use words like God and Jesus Christ in public.
When Democrats and Republicans function as they should, they balance out each other and represent the best interests of the United States of America.
The problem is that both parties have been corrupted by progressives that want to reshape America and put her on a different path.
Neither party represents what the majority of the American People want. In fact, what they represent is greedy and power-hungry politicians who exploit their populace at the expense of individual rights and prosperity.
The current atmosphere present in Washington today tells Americans that the “Golden Rule” does not apply any more and neither does the “Values Protected in the Constitution”. What this all means is that the “Constitution” is hanging by a thread and about ready to break.
The grassroots American still want their government to abide by the Constitution, but many youth and progressives that go by the label “Liberals” have a different vision in mind of America.
These two factions are starting to collide often in their differences and heating up the political atmosphere. These differences affect family units, social networks, the office setting, and the agenda in Congress.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that there is going to be a major eruption in American Society if we cannot find a way to accept our differences. Hate and anger toward those who think differently are becoming a major force in our interactions with each other.
I belong to a virtual social site that discusses political points of view. Sometimes our discussions become heated and people insult each other by resorting to name calling. Liberals bait conservatives into debating with them and then bash their values and beliefs with insulting remarks.
The same divisiveness happens in the real world as well as the virtual world. When a conservative meets a liberal he or she is often pounced on with insults and is baited into a debate.
We have to tell these people that we will not participate in a debate because a debate pits people against each other. There has to be a winner and a loser. The purpose of a debate is to win, which does not necessarily mean they believe what they say.
Debating does not create a healthy environment for peace to reside or to reach an understanding of each other’s point of view; especially if the person does not really mean what he or she just said. How does one know what that person really believes?
I’ve learned to use questions to help me determine if people are just making trouble or is that really how they feel. By trying to understand their motivation, I can understand their values better. Finding their values helps me find common ground in which we can relate.
Common ground helps us maintain a civil relationship with people who have differences with us both politically and personally. Perhaps we should try to be more tolerant of other’s beliefs and see if that helps us understand them better. Understanding people better and finding common ground is how we find internal peace with the chaos around us.
Few Conservatives are willing to open up a friendly dialog with liberals because they foresee a debate and insult coming behind an innocent response to their comment. They understand that a Liberal person’s motives are often not based on having a peaceful discussion to share ideas.
Until we understand their position and why they feel that way, along with knowing them personally (knowing their hobbies and talents) puts the focus elsewhere and helps us see CONSERVATIVES or LIBERALS as real people like us.
Pouncing on people’s beliefs means the following:
- Not wanting to understand the other person’s point of view
- Not seeing the other person as a human being that has many of the same interests as we do
- Not appreciating that this situation leads to HATE, VILE BEHAVIOR, BITTERNESS , AND POSSIBLY EVEN VIOLENCE .
- All of these situations set the stage for an eruption of some sort that affects more than just us
- Always negatively affects those with whom we have associations.
Contention, anger, and hate come from the enemy to peace and destroys the common good in society. We cannot allow that to become the norm.
We can resist contention when we refuse to behave negatively toward those who believe differently than we do (i.e., Democrat or Republican, Liberals or Conservatives, TEA Party or Communist).
If we can do this with our differences in politics, then we can do this with other aspects of our differences. When we focus on our commonality, we will more easily find a way to compromise and get along more peacefully as a nation.
As usual, I am always interested in your thoughts so I invite you to leave a comment.
