Republican Or Democrat

I watched Meet the Press on Sunday, did you? It was the same old rhetoric from both sides. I was very irritated by it and was disappointed by my favorite Republican John Cornyn.  When asked point blank how the Republicans are different than Democrats and what specifically will they do if they win contol of Congress, both of them were vague and wouldn’t give a straight answer, just like a politician.

With the way the Pete Sessions and John Cornyn represented Republicans, I did not find much faith in the party. However, the Democrats sang the same old song as usual … blaming Bush, saying their programs are the best for America, and claim they have saved America…you know the song, you’ve heard it enough times.

As much as it pains me to say this, because I am not completely happy with the Republican Party, we HAVE to replace all the Democrats we can this election with Republicans. Even if I am not impressed with the Party itself, I think Republicans are the lessor of two evils. We need to take the majority from Democrats in Congress so checks and balance can function properly again, then we can start repealing some of the damage that has been done by the Democrats, although John Cornyn was reluctant to say so.

Tell me how you see this situation. Do you think replacing Democrats with Republicans is the answer or do you think voting more Independent or Libertarian? I am just wondering what the atmosphere is out there on this subject.

Commentary: The Price of Everything

Irish wit Oscar Wilde observed that a “cynic is someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.” Be that as it may, prices are the economy’s main mechanism for calibrating value. The most important factor in determining prices is supply and demand: That which is valued and rare commands a higher price than that which is not valued and/or plentiful. We have a plentiful supply of dirt, so dirt is dirt-cheap. And if no one valued diamonds, diamonds wouldn’t command much of a price, either, despite their rarity.
