In an interview on Fox News, Syndicated Talk Show Host Lou Dobbs said that “Senator Kyle’s record of public service… is among one of the straightest. This man speaks carefully, is intellectually rigorous, ah, to accuse this man of lying would suggest that in that one moment Friday at a TEA Party, ah, he took leave of his entire record all of his values and frankly, that strains credulity to the breaking point.”
It is something that the President might have said because he has a habit of stating the obvious, as Dobbs observes, and probably didn’t see any news in that statement. It is also possible that the President said this because he often says things that are not scripted on a teleprompter and that gets him in trouble.
We do know this much:
- It is obvious that President Obama IS NOT securing the border.
- It is obvious that the President is trying to get passed a Comprehensive Immigration Reform that needs support of Republicans. He made a statement to that affect last week.
- It is also obvious that he doesn’t plan to support Arizona Law 1070, since Hillary Clinton let it slip that the White House plans to legally challenge it.
- It is obvious in the past that the President has a habit of not telling us the complete truth about certain issues.
- It is obvious that the Democrat Party has something to gain politically by not stopping the illegal flow of immigration into the country (i.e., Latino votes tend to be Democrat).
Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked Dobbs about a statement the White House gave of all the efforts this President is doing to secure the borders. Also, she wanted to know his thoughts on the White House background they sent along with their response to (R-AZ) Senator Jon Kyl’s statement of Obama holding back on securing the border to get a comprehensive immigration reform bill passed with Republican support.
The background pointed out what this President is doing: with 110 Special Agents, he tripled the amount of ICE Intel Analysts — to which Dobbs replied: “What was it? Was it to 18, the tripling? (And then he laughed at the absudity) — up to 1200 additional troops to the border and request $500 million dollars in supplemental funds for enhancing protection for the borders.
The point from the White House is “We ARE Securing The Southern Borders so Senator Kyl doesn’t” know what he’s talking about!” Dobbs replied, “Yeah, I think as you go through those statistics the White House was nice enough to share, most of them are in regard to ‘out bound events and traffic’ rather than’in bound’.
Almost 600,000 illegal aliens have been apprehended by the border patrol. The typical ratio is 3 to 1; for every apprehension, 3 enter the country successfully (that’s the border patrol’s metric, not mine)… this is a laughable response from the White House. . . I am one of those who are hopeful that we can come to a rational solution, a rational, effective, humane solution on border security and illegal immigration. But this kind of gameship, political gameship, will set back that effort tremendously. “
Kelly responded by saying, “People are being murdered down there.” Dobbs replied, “Murdered, they are being kidnapped, they are being smuggled illegally into the United States, raped…this is a devastating crime wave on our border. Not just in Arizona, but primarily so because that’s where most of the illegal immigrants into this country are crossing.”
“We are watching 25,000 Mexican citizens being murdered in Mexico, primarily in the Northern part near the border, without any kind of reflex from this government. And we have the posing and the posturing of Felipe Calderon, the President of Mexico, rather than an honest, forthright response to illegal immigration. All that is required here is a Treaty between the United States and Mexico; a responsible, not paternalistic policy toward Mexico by the United States.”
Kelly then stated, “I got to get you to weigh-in on now this news from the Department of Justice that they are going to be filing a challenge, as expected, to Arizona’s law. You really got to feel for Arizona right, because they’ve got this problem. Now they find out that, according to Senator Kyl, the border’s not going to get secured until comprehensive reform is passed. So they pass this law and now the DOJ is going to challenge it.”
Dobbs answered, “I would only say Megyn, it will be secured; rather this President chooses to do so or not because the people have acted, on July 30 this law just enacted will go a long way toward helping it. It won’t be absolutely secure, it’s not a perfect solution. A perfect solution is have a responsible President, a responsible administration, securing the border.”
“But the people of Arizona deserve great credit and, if this administration thinks they can bully the state of Arizona, it’s been tried seven times and the ACLU has participated. They have won in each of seven cases, trying to roll back their anti-illegal immigration laws and initiatives. The State of Arizona has prevailed each and every time. They are not going to be intimidated, and they won’t be dissuaded by more propaganda from an administration seeking political leverage.”
Megyn replied: “Governor Brewer has certainly made that clear so far. “
This was the end of the interview. I will keep you informed of any more news on this subject.
